Jimmy Hill (1917-1994) was an English rugby union player and coach. He is best known as the coach of England's 1966 and 1974 World Cup-winning teams, and as a player of the 1950s and 1960s. He coached at Bath, Leicester and Northampton before moving to Australia in 1968. He coached South Melbourne, Fitzroy and North Adelaide to the Australian Football League title in his first three seasons in charge
At North Adelaide he won two SANFL premierships, in 1975 and 1976. Hill played for England at fly-half between 1948 and 1954, earning 19 caps. His playing career ended when he injured his knee during a game against France in 1954.
Hill was awarded an MBE in 1989.
